Ted McGraw - Host/Producer.

The setting is an old fashioned kitchen party with a friendly gathering of old time musicians featuring the country dance music of the ‘great northeast’. So come on in and take your seat between the fireplace and the cider barrel and join in with a tune or song when your turn comes around, or just sit back and enjoy the talent of your friends and neighbors.

Country dances include the jig, reel, hornpipe, waltz, barn dance, schottische, march, strathspey, breakdown, two-step, quadrille, polka and clog in various regional styles. The songs include the tales of the sea and other ballads that you may have heard around the camp fire or at house parties.

Country dance music is played primairly on the fiddle, but you will also hear other instuments such as the harmonica, button accordion, hammered dulcimer, piano, and guitar.

The ‘great northeast’ includes New York State, the New England States and northward through Ontario, Quebec and the Maritimes - New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and Prince Edward Island and Newfoundland.

Tune in for happy melodies to cheer you up!
